Sebastian Stan Reflects On The “Relaxed” Nature Of Avengers: Infinity War Production

Although one might assume that the Avengers: Infinity War production was a hectic, stressful affair, Sebastian Stan has recalled the relaxed atmosphere.

Between claims that Avengers: Infinity War is unlike anything we’ve seen before, along with the movie’s all-star ensemble cast, one might assume that production on Joe and Anthony Russo’s super-sized blockbuster was rather hectic at the best of times.

But at least according to Sebastian Stan, who is due to reprise as Bucky Barnes/The Winter Soldier, shooting scenes for Infinity War was “actually kind of loose and relaxed.”

Speaking to Collider (with a tip of the hat to Screen Rant) as part of the ongoing press tour for I, Tonya, the figure skating drama in which he shares the ice with Margot Robbie (Suicide Squad, Gotham City Sirens), Stan recalled the laissez-faire attitude on the Avengers: Infinity War set, and how that fostered a lax working environment in which everyone was “just having a good time.”

It’s actually kind of loose and relaxed, at least when I was around. I had fun. You’re always like ‘oh, so and so walked by me’ – it’s always a little bit like a double take. But generally, I just think everyone’s just having a good time. And the Russos are leading that ship – they’re very cool, they know what they want, everything’s prepared, nothing’s ever really anxious. It’s all very smooth.

Since his MCU debut in Captain America: The First Avenger, it’s fair to say that Stan has grown into a bona fide fan-favorite, particularly after his villainous turn in the really rather excellent Winter Soldier sequel. And while long-time Marvel readers believe it’s only a matter of time before Bucky Barnes assumes the Captain America title, the actor recently cooled talks of a potential switcheroo.

Avengers: Infinity War, a film of “infinite proportions,” will check into theaters on May 4th, 2018. It’ll be followed in quick succession by the so-far untitled Avengers 4, which is expected to herald the final showdown between Thanos and Earth’s Mightiest Heroes.
