First Infinity War Reaction Hails “Ambitious” Scope And Funny Dialogue

An advanced screening of Avengers: Infinity War took place in London earlier today, and Digital Spy has posted its early verdict.

While the official review embargo has been locked in for Tuesday, April 24th, various members of the press were treated to an advanced, 30-minute screening of Avengers: Infinity War in London earlier today, and the first reaction has snuck online.

Coming to us by way of Digital Spy (h/t CBM), this knee-jerk reaction is just that: a succinct, spoiler-free evaluation of Infinity War, based on a 30-minute snippet that was purportedly pulled from the sequel’s first act. Chances are that’ll involve scenes of Captain America and Falcon paying a visit to Edinburgh in order to rescue Scarlet Witch and Vision from the clutches of the Black Order, before Avengers 3 shifts gears to outer space, where the Guardians of the Galaxy are busy sizing up a discombobulated Thor Odinson, who is still reeling from Ragnarok.

And that’s just it. True to Alan Silvestri’s word, it appears Avengers: Infinity War will indeed feature quick shifts in tone, as Digital Spy notes that the Guardians sequence had a “very different look, feel, and soundtrack” to those scenes in New York City.

For those of you who’ve seen Infinity War‘s eye-popping trailers – or one of the many, many TV spots littering the interwebs – you’ll know the Battle of New York largely centers on Marvel’s Science Bros: Doctor Strange, Iron Man, Hulk and the fiercely loyal Wong.

Not only that, it seems Joe and Anthony Russo, along with screenwriters Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely, have managed to retain some of the humor that made Civil War so special. And Hawkeye? Still MIA, sadly.
