The Avengers: Infinity War Script Had Fake Scenes To Prevent Leaks

In just a few short hours, fans will get their next look at Joe and Anthony Russo's Avengers: Infinity War, as Marvel's expected to debut the next trailer for the upcoming event movie during the Super Bowl. In just a few short hours, fans will get their next look at Joe and Anthony Russo’s Avengers: Infinity War, as Marvel’s expected to debut the second trailer for the upcoming event movie during the Super Bowl. That’s hugely exciting not only because this is probably the biggest release on the 2018 calendar, but also because with only a few months to go before it arrives, we still haven’t seen very much from it.

The studio dropped the first preview near the end of 2017, and since then we’ve had a few photos, but otherwise, it’s been pretty quiet on the Infinity War front, with fans left to make do with all kinds of rumors and theories. But that was to be expected, as by this point, Marvel knows how to handle spoilers and leaks and for this particular film, they aren’t taking any chances. In fact, as Paul Bettany, who plays Vision, recently revealed, the script contained a number of fake scenes that won’t actually be in the final edit.

Speaking in a recent interview, the actor said:

“When I read the script there were fake scenes in it. I got the directors on the phone and they walked me through what were the fake scenes. They’d had three leaks already, so they’d written a script with lots of fake scenes. There were three Hero iPads that had the only real script on them.”

Elsewhere in the same interview, Bettany spoke about the production in general and just how massive it was.

“It was insane. There were like major movie stars on that film, and they were referred to as like “number 36’. It’s crazy. Then there’s the fact that I woke up, and I knew we were shooting in the middle of nowhere .We were shooting an outdoors scene, and we started to descend down into this valley. There’s this f-cking town, and I was like “Where the f-ck is this?” I got my phone out and there was nothing there, and that’s when I realized there were no buildings, it was all trailers. I’ve been making movies for 20 years and I’ve never seen anything that big or bonkers in my life…”

The actor’s comments here echo what we’ve been hearing for a while now. That being that Avengers: Infinity War is an absolutely enormous movie. And with 70+ characters set to feature, it might easily end up becoming the biggest blockbuster of all-time. After all, we’ve been promised that there’s nothing quite like it and given what a roll Marvel’s been on lately, we’re feeling pretty confident that the Russos have cooked up another home run here.

We’ll have to wait until May to find out if that’s for sure the case, but with a new trailer for Avengers: Infinity War set to arrive later tonight, we’ll soon have a much better idea of what’s in store – and we can hardly wait to find out.
