Another Set Photo For Avengers: Infinity War Reunites Marvel’s Lunch Buddies

Robert Downey Jr., Mark Ruffalo, Benedict Cumberbatch, and Benedict Wong all reunite in this latest set photo for Avengers: Infinity War.

Four weeks ago, Robert Downey Jr. took a timeout on the Atlanta set of Avengers: Infinity War to share a rather candid photo of him enjoying lunch with three of his co-stars: Mark Ruffalo, Benedict Cumberbatch (Doctor Strange), and Benedict Wong (Wong).

That picture in question was naturally captured between takes on Joe and Anthony Russo’s Herculean blockbuster, so those on the hunt for potential story clues were left a little disappointed…or were they? A handful of Internet sleuths went on to claim that that photo is actually hiding a major plot point in plain sight, as it suggests Tony Stark’s Iron Man will once again have to rely on the arc reactor to power his cutting-edge suits.

One way or another, the jury’s still out on that one, but today brings forth a new Infinity War set snap that reunites Marvel’s lunch buddies. First spotted by ComicBook, this all-new image was shared via Mark Ruffalo’s Twitter feed, and once again shows Cumberbatch and Wong in costume as the Sorcerer Supreme and, er, Wong, respectively.

Posting selfies from the production is fast becoming a recurring trend for Mark Ruffalo, so keep your peepers peeled for more photos as Avengers: Infinity War begins to coalesce.

In related news, we recently caught wind of the “great chemistry” between Tom Holland and Cumberbatch’s Doctor Strange – even if the latter completely overlooked the young up-and-comer at first glance – along with the moment in which Drax the Destroyer crosses paths with Iron Man. Dave Bautista’s character is known for being stupidly literal, so we can only imagine the hilarity that will ensue once his Drax is introduced to the unapologetically sarcastic Tony Stark.

Avengers: Infinity War will be with us on May 4th, 2018, and despite reports to the contrary, the as-yet-untitled Avengers 4 won’t herald the much-touted MCU reboot as initially thought.
