Hulk vs. Hulkbuster fight

Hulkbuster Merch May Include A Big Spoiler For Avengers: Infinity War

Could Bruce Banner actually break out of the Hulkbuster armor in Avengers: Infinity War? This latest piece of merch certainly thinks so.

Movie spoilers are unavoidable even at the best of times, but when it comes to Avengers: Infinity War, arguably the most-anticipated movie of 2018, Marvel Studios will surely have to go that extra mile to ensure Joe and Anthony Russo’s Herculean crossover remains under wraps for as long as it can.

And though it’s impossible to know for sure, we imagine Marvel’s decision to bring Infinity War‘s U.S. release date forward to April 27th, thereby aligning with the film’s overseas debut, has something to do with the company’s no-nonsense approach to spoilers. The precautions are in place, then, but what about Infinity War‘s vast toy line?

With each day that passes, the selection of MCU merchandise grows that little bit more, and thanks to Reddit (h/t ComicBook.com), we now have our first peek at the official Hulkbuster toy, and it appears even the Mark XLIV suit struggles to contain the raging Bruce Banner.

Check it out in the gallery down below (which also includes some other recent merch):

In light of Infinity War‘s teaser trailer, we have reason to believe that Bruce Banner will be piloting the famous Hulkbuster armor when he descends upon Wakanda – it would certainly explain his relocation from New York City to the African utopia – as Marvel’s Jade Giant and the famous Mark XLIV suit are never pictured in the same scene.

But based on this particular figurine, Joe and Anthony Russo plan to go one step further and allow Banner’s raging alter-ego to claw his way out of the machine – presumably from the inside out. It would make for a fairly remarkable scene, but again, it’d be foolish to wean any potential plot details from a range of merchandise – official or otherwise.

Avengers: Infinity War will be with us on April 27th.
