Avengers: Infinity War Star Mark Ruffalo Lobbies For Hulk/Wolverine Crossover

Mark Ruffalo recently swung by the Marvelists Podcast to discuss Avengers: Infinity War along with his own hopes for a Hulk/Wolverine crossover.

We’ve seen Bruce Banner riff with Natasha Romanoff (AKA Black Widow) and square off against the God of Thunder during Thor: Ragnarok, but if Mark Ruffalo has his way, Hulk’s next screen partner will be none other than Wolverine himself.

The Avengers: Infinity War star recently swung by the Marvelists Podcast (h/t ComicBook.com) to discuss all things Marvel, including how his Jade Giant will be factored into Avengers 4. Ruffalo naturally refrained from revealing too much, too soon, but he did share his innermost desire to see the Hulk fight alongside Hugh Jackman’s rage-filled mutant.

In fact, he’d also like to see the comic book duo fight amongst each other, as it would create an unrivaled sense of spectacle for Marvel Comics readers.

Well, of course, there’s always the Banner-Black Widow combo, which I think is always a good combination. It’d be cool to see — I mean, people talk a lot about Wolverine and Hulk hooking up, I think that would be a really great combo. And I love Hugh [Jackman], and it would be cool to do something with him, if he’s up to doing it. He’s always teased Hulk versus Wolverine would be pretty fun.

Sadly, it appears Hugh Jackman has officially hung up the claws now that Logan has come and gone. James Mangold’s R-rated Western pic was arguably the perfect send-off for his Wolverine and the character’s 17-year legacy in film. The impending Disney-Fox merger only adds more salt to the wound, as Jackman had always wanted to rub shoulders with Earth’s Mightiest Heroes.

Here he is revealing his dream scenario to IGN four years ago:

I would love to see him as part of The Avengers. Because there’s a great dysfunction among that team, and I think Wolverine would fit right into that. He’d like that. There’s no doubt he’d get in a fight with Hulk at some point.

With that in mind, Mark Ruffalo’s proposed Hulk/Wolverine crossover is a long shot, as the former currently has his giant green hands full with the oncoming Avengers 4. And Hugh Jackman? He’s been keeping busy with The Greatest Showman and other star-studded drama pics.
