Suicide Squad’s David Ayer Reacts To Infinity War Success: “Marvel Is Killing It”

Per Twitter, Suicide Squad and Gotham City Sirens director David Ayer has reacted to Avengers: Infinity War and the continued success of Marvel Studios.

As our own Matt Donato so aptly put it, Avengers: Infinity War is undoubtedly the movie event of the summer, even if it falls just short of becoming the greatest movie of the summer.

Be that as it may, the fact that Joe and Anthony Russo – not to mention screenwriters Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely – built Infinity War on a rock-solid foundation made up of 18 movies and 10 years’ worth of CG spectacle has elevated the third Avengers movie to must-see status.

It’s part of the reason why everyone is currently walking on eggshells – remember, Thanos demands your silence – until such time as the moviegoing masses have seen Avengers: Infinity War with their own two eyes, which, if nothing else, proves that the MCU has carefully amassed one of the most invested and impassioned fanbases in modern film history. Hell, one need only look to the early box office results for evidence of that, as viewers flock to midnight screenings all across the globe in order to see Thanos’ invasion as soon as possible.

Suffice it to say, Avengers: Infinity War is a special, special movie, and it’s even garnered praise from filmmaker David Ayer.

Via Twitter (h/t Screen Rant), the Suicide Squad and Gotham City Sirens director posted a heartfelt endorsement of the MCU, stating that Marvel Studios is “killing it,” and he has nothing but praise for the company’s continued success.

It’s always refreshing to see creators go out of their way to celebrate fellow creators – particularly in the sphere of comic book movies, which can often succumb to an echo chamber and/or pissing match between Marvel and DC.

Avengers: Infinity War is now playing across theaters near and far, while David Ayer’s Gotham City Sirens was reportedly delayed ever so slightly in order to fast-track Birds of Prey.
