Avengers: Infinity War Theory Says That Shuri Saved Vision

While it’s all but officially confirmed that many of the deaths from Avengers: Infinity War will be somehow reversed in next year’s Avengers 4, many fans are willing to make an exception in their predictions for poor old Vision, whose death at the hands of Thanos seemed a little more permanent than those of the heroes who were disintegrated moments later.

One post on Reddit, however, argues that there’s still hope yet for the android, and it’s all thanks to the scientifically gifted Shuri. While T’Challa’s teenage sister ultimately failed to remove the Mind Stone from the head of Vision, putting Wanda Maximoff in the unfortunate position of having to kill the character, this new theory argues that Shuri kept Vision alive by copying his mind onto her computer as a last-minute backup plan.

As evidence, the post provides a series of screenshots which show the Mind Stone connected to Wakandan technology by six main pathways. As the enemies approach, its observed that each of these pathways take it in turns to change from orange to blue, indicating that one part of Vision’s essence has been successfully uploaded. Just as Thanos’ minions arrive, you can see all six of these pathways blink blue at once, indicating that the process is completed.

Overall, it’s a nice idea, but it raises a couple of questions. For one thing, you have to wonder why Shuri didn’t try this copy and paste idea in the first place, or at least mention it to the Avengers as a possibility. Moreover, once Shuri had completed this plan, it seems strange that she’d fail to tell anyone. Saddling Scarlet Witch with the emotional burden of killing Vision without letting her know that another version of him still exists seems downright sadistic.

That being said, actor Paul Bettany remains tight-lipped on whether his death in Avengers: Infinity War was real and lasting, so maybe we’ll find out that there’s some truth to this theory when Avengers 4 comes out on May 3rd, 2019.
