Alleged Infinity War Funko Pop Leak Points To Thor’s Fierce New Weapon

Mjolnir was so 2017. Thanks to a possible Funko Pop leak, we now have a better look at Jarnbjorn as it'll appear in Avengers: Infinity War.

Mjolnir was so 2017.

The mystical hammer was vaporized by the villainous Hela in Thor: Ragnarok, leaving Marvel’s God of Thunder in quite the pickle as we approach Avengers: Infinity War.

But fear not, the Norse god will be packing some serious heat later this year, as all signs point to Thor replacing Mjolnir with  Jarnbjorn. It’s the Wrecker of Worlds; a Dwarven-forged battle axe that first featured in Marvel’s comics back when Thor was deemed unworthy to wield his precious hammer – a recurring theme of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, too.

Adding weight to those rumors today is a leaked Funko Pop! Vinyl figure for Avengers: Infinity War, in which you’ll see the God of Thunder getting to grips with a weapon that is definitely not Mjolnir. Chances are it is, in fact, Jarnbjorn, as it would align with previous reports, but we now have reason to believe that Infinity War will empower Chris Hemsworth’s Norse god with the hammer found in Marvel’s Ultimate Universe series.

See for yourself:

Peer a little closer and you’ll also notice that the God of Thunder is sporting a battle armor that is much darker than the one seen in Ragnarok – perhaps another visual cue that Infinity War will be a more somber affair. It featured in Vanity Fair’s recent 10-year photo shoot, too, which brought together the leading heroes of the MCU for a suitably epic (and historic!) cover.

So long Mjolnir; hello Jarnbjorn? Avengers: Infinity War touches down in theaters on May 4th, and when it does, it’ll herald a radical transformation for Marvel’s God of Thunder, who is clearly still feeling the effects of Ragnarok and his fierce battle with Hela, Goddess of Death.
