Not unlike Steve Rogers before him, Tom Holland’s Peter Parker isn’t one to bow before a bully.
Indeed, it’s that spunky, never-say-die attitude that helped define Spider-Man: Homecoming, the 2017 summer blockbuster in which everyone’s favorite Wall-Crawler took down the Vulture (AKA Adrian Toomes) once and for all.
Fast forward to 2018, and there’s a much more formidable villain on the horizon: Thanos, Marvel’s Mad Titan who is prepped and ready to arm his oh-so-precious Infinity Gauntlet with six of the most precious gems in existence. That is, in a nutshell, the plot underpinning Avengers: Infinity War, but part of what makes Joe and Anthony Russo’s Herculean blockbuster so special – so unprecedented – is its enormous cast, which just so happens to feature Josh Brolin (Deadpool 2) as the aforementioned Mad Titan.
And at least based on today’s brand new international promo, he’s about to square off against Tom Holland’s Spider-Man, who swings in to execute a drop-kick around the 0:23 mark.
Pretty cool, no? Granted, with only 10 days left until D-day, we’re beginning to wonder if Marvel Studios will begin to release fewer TV spots in order to keep spoilers at bay. Recent reports indicated that Infinity War clocks in at around 150 minutes in length, and with so many warnings about the sky-high death count, there’s only so much of the film that can be shown, lest Marvel risk ruining what is arguably the most important MCU movie thus far.
Touting upwards of 22 heroes, six Infinity Stones and one very, very pissed off Titan, Avengers: Infinity War has been slated for a worldwide release on April 27th, by which point we should have firm confirmation of the sequel’s post-credits scene(s)…or lack thereof.
