Two months ago, Vanity Fair assembled heroes old and new for a cover shoot, which, in hindsight, proved to be the perfect precursor to Marvel’s first teaser trailer for Avengers: Infinity War.

It was a crowded, record-breaking showcase – one heavy in spectacle and light in spoilers – of what’s undoubtedly 2018’s biggest movie. And though Black Panther is still locked and loaded for February 16th (February 9th for those across the pond), Marvel’s hard-wired marketing machine is beginning to drum up excitement for Infinity War, a star-studded crossover of “infinite proportions.”

And that’s not a phrase to be taken lightly, as Joe and Anthony Russo have scoured the four corners of the MCU to arguably assemble the greatest team of superheroes in film history. Case in point: these newly-unveiled (and textless!) versions of Vanity Fair’s 10-year anniversary shoot, which begin by spotlighting Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.), Falcon (Anthony Mackie) and Thor (Chris Hemsworth), who’s still reeling from his Ragnarok adventure.

Elsewhere in the MCU, Avengers 4 is inching ever closer to the finish line. It’s still filming across parts of Atlanta, and just yesterday, the Marvel fanbase was placed on red alert after a slew of potentially spoiler-heavy set photos emerged onto the interwebs.

Featuring three bona fide Marvel veterans in Captain America, Iron Man, and Hulk, those Phase One Avengers were joined by Ant-Man in the Battle of New York. And no, you read that right, for yesterday’s amateur photos have fuelled rumors that the Russo Brothers are planning to incorporate elements of time travel (and alternate dimensions, perhaps?) into their second and presumably final Avengers movie.

The first, aptly titled Infinity War, will be with us on May 4th.
