The fiery, sibling-like rivalry between Gamora and Nebula is arguably one of the more intriguing subplots of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and it’s made all the more compelling by Zoe Saldana and Karen Gillan’s terrific, nuanced performances.

Introduced as the warring step-daughters of Thanos, the duo’s spat reached a whole new level in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, when James Gunn’s spectacular sequel cast light on Nebula’s brutal upbringing: “I will hunt my father like a dog and I will tear him apart piece by piece.” Yikes.

Granted, Gillan’s blue-skinned alien endured physical and mental torture at the hands of Marvel’s Mad Titan, so you can understand her desire for revenge. Perhaps she’ll be the one to kill off Thanos in Avengers 4? It’s certainly possible, but before we get swept up in wishful thinking, there’s an Infinity War on the horizon, one IMDb deems to be the most-anticipated movie of 2018.

Now entering the final stages of development, Infinity War star Zoe Saldana has shared a pair of light-hearted set videos via Instagram, while there’s also a selfie of her goofing around with her on-screen sister, Karen Gillan. The latter was captured by UK tabloid Daily Mail (see below), as it was originally uploaded to Saldana’s Instagram story.

Last we checked in on Nebula at the tail-end of Guardians 2, she planned to buy a warship “with every conceivable instrument of death” as part of her last-ditch attempt to bring Thanos down. Whether that plan takes into effect is another question entirely, but rest assured, Avengers: Infinity War will deliver some of the answers fans so crave on May 4th, 2018.

Exactly one year later, the fourth Avengers movie will bring a sense of closure to the current iteration of the MCU, before the likes of Spider-Man: Homecoming 2 and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 begin tumbling off the production line.
