When Doctor Strange is released next month, we’re going to see a very different side of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Just like Guardians of the Galaxy showed us something new when it took us into outer space, this movie will explore the concept of magic and alternate realities as the Sorcerer Supreme makes his presence felt in a major way.

Benedict Cumberbatch has already confirmed that we’ll see Doctor Strange in Avengers: Infinity War, but will we see any members of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes in his solo outing? That remains to be seen, but the latest TV spot for the film heavily teases an appearance from them as we learn that a very different sort of superhero is about to be introduced to their world. As you’ll no doubt notice, the promo reuses footage from previous Marvel movies, so this shouldn’t be taken as an indication that they’re all going to show up.

Showing The Avengers here is an interesting move, but Disney and Marvel Studios did the same when they released Ant-Man. That was a lot more on the nose though as that movie’s marketing campaign actually showed the pint-sized superhero hanging around weapons like Mjolnir and Captain America’s shield.

Whether or not Doctor Strange will go down a similar route in the next few weeks remains to be seen, but with the movie set to be released on November 4th, there’s not long to wait now.
