Move out of the way folks, The Avengers is on a rampage and there’s no stopping it. After smashing box office records last week, the film looks to do the same this weekend as it’s predicted that it will have crossed the $1 billion mark by Monday morning.

Comic Book Movie reports that the film is already at $800 million and with the only real competition this weekend coming from Dark Shadows, which is looking to under-perform due to mixed reviews, it’s likely that The Avengers will achieve the milestone.

What’s even more exciting is that if it does reach the milestone by Monday morning, it will tie James Cameron’s Avatar for reaching $1 billion in the shortest amount of time.

So, what are you waiting for? Get out there and see the film. And if you’ve already seen it, see it again, it’s well worth a second viewing.
