Today, thanks to Comic Book Movie via Entertainment Weekly, we get another glimpse at the film with a new banner that covers multiple scenes from the upcoming first part of the two-film prequel entitled The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey.

In the banner, fans can see several familiar scenes including Gandalf’s arrival at Bag End, the whole gang feasting together, and, of course, plenty of journeying. Something else that we are finally getting a first peek at is the character of Beorn, a shape-shifter who aides our heroes in their quest to reclaim the dwarves’ kingdom. Here, he is seen in his bear form as he has a chat with Gandalf.

I don’t know about you, but this raises my excitement for the film even more. Hopefully a new trailer is not too far behind as the only one we’ve had came out about six months ago, and even that early on it looked spectacular. Luckily, we have only about five more months to wait for the first film’s release.

The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey hits theaters on December 14, 2012 while The Hobbit: There and Back Again arrives on December 13, 2013.
