It was bound to happen. We’ve had the big Batman reveal, and we’ve seen Superman and Clark Kent. We just needed Wonder Woman to complete DC’s Big Three. All eyes were on Hall H at San Diego Comic-Con as Warner Bros. kickstarted its long-anticipated day of exclusive previews and guest appearances, and fans waiting for Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice were not disappointed.
According to Newsarama.com, curtains were pulled back from the stage to reveal a giant screen that wrapped around the front of the room, as concept art for the film ran to rapturous applause. The shots showed Batman, in Gotham, with Superman landing in front of him. Cue Zack Snyder – director of the historic movie:
“Yeah, hey! How’s it going? So we were shooting last night, I jumped on a plane to come here this morning. I couldn’t be happier with the way everything is going. Normally, when people come to these things, they bring SOME shots, SOME footage or something, but we’re shooting right now!
“Okay, okay, we have a teeny little thing!”
The teeny little thing happened to be a teaser for the most anticipated movie in many years. According to reports, Snyder showed a scene featuring Batman standing in the rain (unsurprisingly), wearing an armoured suit (similar to the one he donned in Frank Miller’s seminal The Dark Knight Returns comic). He turns on the bat signal to illuminate Superman – hovering in the sky. Superman’s eyes begin to glow red, and Batman stares him down. I can feel the goosebumps from here.
The treats did not end there for the faithful fans who had waited so patiently in Hall H. Snyder went on to introduce stars Henry Cavill and Ben Affleck, who were accompanied by Wonder Woman herself – Gal Gadot. As she took to the stage, her official, costumed image was revealed, and it’s good. It’s really, really good.
Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice opens May 6th, 2016.
