Warner Bros.’ all-consuming marketing campaign for Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice continues apace today, with Empire unveiling its stylish new issue featuring the two comic book titans, while Tumblr has caught wind of a prequel comic for Zack Snyder’s titanic blockbuster that will be released incrementally as part of a new promotion with Dr Pepper.

Truth be told it’s been a busy few days on the Dawn of Justice front, given that an epic final poster for the film surfaced over the course of the weekend – one which had the Man of Steel and Caped Crusader squaring off – not to mention a tantalizing TV spot that doubled down on that core, titular encounter.

As for Empire’s striking issue (see below), the subscriber-only spread was designed by esteemed comic book artist Jim Lee, best known for dabbling in the X-Men universe and with the Last Son of Krypton throughout the course of the last three decades. Now, Lee has brought Bats and Supes’ brawl to life in stunning fashion, and we can readily expect new details to emerge pertaining to Dawn of Justice, Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman and Zack Snyder’s vision for the DC Extended Universe in the weeks to come.

Henry Cavill and Ben Affleck take point as Superman and Batman, respectively, while the remainder of Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice‘s star-studded ensemble is to be rounded out by Gadot as Diana Prince/Wonder Woman, Man of Steel alum Amy Adams and Laurence Fishburne, not to mention Jesse Eisenberg, Jeremy Irons, Holly Hunter, Jason Momoa and even The Walking Dead star Lauren Cohan.

It’s due to open on March 25, 2016 – and it won’t be long now before fans will be forced to choose between the two costumed giants.
