Though his Instagram feed has acted as a hub for all things Fast 8 in recent weeks, Dwayne Johnson has shared an appropriately patriotic shot of the Baywatch crew to coincide with the July 4 celebrations in the States.

With sparkler in hand, it is Johnson’s musclebound Mitch Buchannon who anchors the ensemble – replete with Uncle Sam hat – and below you’ll also find Jon Bass, Alex Daddario, Zac Efron, Kelly Rohrbach and Ilfenesh Hadera among the lineup.

There’s also room for Priyanka Chopra’s chief villain. An archetypal suit, the lifeguards will be going toe-to-toe with a greedy oil tycoon hellbent on exploiting the Bay for corporate interests. Enter The Rock and Co, henceforth known as the Baywatch family.

Pegged to land in May of next year, Paramount’s R-rated bonanza is still a ways away, but with Dwayne Johnson front and center – ever the one to trumpet a film’s arrival via social media – expect Baywatch to remain a part of the movie conversation all through 2016.

Behind the lens for this one is Seth Gordon of Horrible Bosses fame and, in lending a new lease of life to a dormant ’90s sitcom, has recruited a cast that features OG stars in David Hasselhoff and Pamela Anderson, not to mention Rob Huebel, Belinda, Jack Kesy, Amin Joseph and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II.

Baywatch will arrive on May 19, 2017.
