Ever since entering production yesterday, Jon Watts’ Spider-Man: Homecoming has swung into an absolute casting frenzy. It seems like every few hours a new actor is revealed to be joining the massive cast. Earlier today we told you that both Hannibal Buress and Selenis Leyva were on board for the reboot and now, we’re hearing that Beasts of No Nation breakout Abraham Attah has a role in the film as well.
The 15-year old Ghana-born actor made quite an impact in his feature film debut, the aforementioned Beasts. He attracted a lot of awards attention and it’s actually surprising that this is the first we’re really hearing of him since his role alongside Idris Elba in the Cary Fukunaga-directed flick.
[zergpaid]Although I didn’t particularly love Beasts of No Nation as much as most people did, I do agree that Attah was tremendous in it, and I’m very happy to see him landing a big film like Spider-Man: Homecoming. How heavily he’ll factor into things is unclear at this stage, but he’s likely playing one of Peter’s high school friends, so hopefully he gets a decent amount of screen time.
Spider-Man: Homecoming swings into theatres on July 7th, 2017 and aside from the actors mentioned above, it stars Tom Holland in the lead role alongside Robert Downey Jr., Michael Keaton, Marisa Tomei, Zandaya, Donald Glover, Logan Marshall-Green, Kenneth Choi and Tony Revolori, among others
