The Justice League Dark rumors just keep on coming this week. It was only yesterday that we heard Colin Farrell was being eyed for the role of John Constantine, and now Heroic Hollywood is back to tell us that apparently Warner Bros. wants Ben Mendelsohn for a villainous part, that of Anton Arcane. Sources say the actor is interested in the role, but he’s waiting to hear who will direct the adaptation before he makes a final decision.
Created by Len Wein and Bernie Wrightson, Arcane is “a mad scientist obsessed with gaining immortality which has led him to create monstrous creatures known as “Un-Men” as well as other monstrous biogenetic experimentations involving the dead.” He’s also said to be Swamp Thing’s arch-nemesis.
Speaking of Swamp Thing, another rumor broke earlier this week that pointed to Ron Perlman being sought after for the role. Of course, this delighted fans of the actor, as he would definitely be perfectly suited to it. Again though, none of this has been confirmed by the studio and until it has, we’ll need to file it strictly under the rumor category for now.
