Title And Casting Announcements For Star Wars: Episode VII May Arrive Any Day Now

Now I know you just read that title, rolled your eyes, and thought, "Yeah, we've heard that one before." While I have no way of guaranteeing anything in terms of this rumor, I will say that this one sounds pretty good. Ali Arikan, chief film critic of Dipnot TV with a track record of accuracy on Star Wars scoops, Tweeted that an official title, teaser trailer, and big casting news for Star Wars: Episode VII will be here within days.

Now I know you just read that title, rolled your eyes, and thought, “Yeah, we’ve heard that one before.” While I have no way of guaranteeing anything in terms of this rumor, I will say that this one sounds pretty good. Ali Arikan, the chief film critic of Dipnot TV with a track record of accuracy on Star Wars scoops, Tweeted that an official title, teaser trailer, and big casting news for Star Wars: Episode VII will be here within days.

Check out Ali’s Tweet below.

So here’s what I’m hearing about Episode VII. Casting and title announcements are imminent, possibly today or tomorrow. But that’s not all. I’ve heard word that there’ll be an announcement trailer/teaser featuring Luke. Tweeting this so I look like Nikki Finke if/when it happens.

Now, I’m fully aware that someone saying that news could be coming with no source given as reason for that claim really isn’t any reason to get excited, but it’s about time we got some new Star Wars news isn’t it? After all, there really hasn’t been anything official since J.J. Abrams was announced as director, at least not anything of substance, and the film’s release gets closer every day.

Then again, Disney doesn’t really have to do anything this far out in terms of promotion to get people excited for the film. It isn’t as if someone is going to see a brief Star Wars teaser and think “Hey, that could be a kind of cool movie. Maybe I should go see it in two years.” All a teaser will do is get fans even more excited than they already are, assuming it’s good. If it’s not good, then it’ll give plenty for those fans to complain about until the next trailer makes its way into theaters.

In terms of a title being announced, I really couldn’t care less. It isn’t as if something like The Empire Strikes Back or Revenge Of The Sith really reveals all that much about the movie. Sure, it’ll be nice to know the official title purely so we don’t have to refer to it only as Episode VII, but other than that, I’m not all that excited for the reveal.

On the other hand, casting news is something that myself, and the rest of the world, is looking forward to. We’ve heard that all sorts of actors have read for, or are in consideration for various unnamed roles in the movie. At this point, I’d be thrilled just to know the name of one new actor who is confirmed. That’s really all I’m asking for. If that comes in the next couple days, then I’ll be content for at least a month or two.

What do you think about possible Star Wars: Episode VII news coming our way? Any chance we actually get to see a teaser soon? Any guesses on what the title will be? Share your thoughts with us in the comments section below.
