Carrying a box full of her stuff, Harleen Quinzel walks the streets of Gotham City with an anxious look on her face. Also in the new batch of pics are a couple of images of Harley talking to and hugging Dana Lee’s ‘Doc.’ Clearly it’s been an emotional night for the Suicide Squad lead, and while Jared Leto’s Joker isn’t expected to make an appearance in Cathy Yan’s film, his presence may still be felt in Harley’s arc.

Though Harley is no longer with the Joker, Birds of Prey will see her finding a new set of friends in Huntress, Renee Montoya and Black Canary, played by Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Rosie Perez and Jurnee Smollett-Bell, respectively. Indeed, it’s no accident that Robbie’s character is making two ensemble flicks in a row, seeing how the actress/producer herself has gone on record saying that she doesn’t ever want to make a Harley Quinn solo movie.

In fact, despite previous reports claiming otherwise, Forbes relayed word just last week that Harley is expected to return for James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad, which is likely to begin production later in the year. You can see how Gunn fares in rebooting the anti-heroine’s first team when his film hits theaters on August 6th, 2021, but in the meantime, we’ll find out how Harley adjusts to the single life when Birds of Prey comes out on February 7th, 2020.
