New Birds Of Prey Set Photos Reveal The Return Of The Joker

Some new set photos from the currently-shooting Birds Of Prey reveal the Joker, but is it Jared Leto playing him, or a different actor?

Last month, Forbes published an article with the headline “Why The Future Of DCEU Movies Looks Brighter Than Ever,” and amongst the various insights offered in the report was the hint that this future won’t bring us a whole lot of Jared Leto’s Joker.

While diving into James Gunn’s plans for The Suicide Squad, Forbes informed us that the previously announced Joker and Harley film has “fallen by the wayside,” and that the same goes for the Clown Prince of Crime’s solo movie. Seeing as how it’s been so long since we’ve heard any encouraging announcements about either of those projects, folks weren’t exactly surprised to hear that.

However, some new set photos from the currently-shooting Birds of Prey have now got people talking as they reveal that despite what we’d been told, the Joker will appear in the film after all. Although, given that his face is pretty concealed here, the question remains of whether or not that’s Jared Leto in the photos below.

As you can see, this is very clearly Mr. J chucking some of Harley Quinn’s belongings from the window of his house, but again, we can’t say for sure whether or not it’s the Suicide Squad star reprising his role or another actor standing in for him. True, Leto is overseas right now filming Morbius, but if WB did indeed want him back for Birds of Prey, he could’ve flown over to the set for a day or two to shoot this scene and then gone back over to the Spider-Man spinoff.

Or, maybe this is just a quick flashback sequence and Warner Bros. didn’t need Leto for it and filmed it in such a way where we don’t fully see Joker’s face, allowing someone else to take the part in this instance. Either way, it does look like the Clown Prince of Crime will indeed be showing up in Birds of Prey – at least in some capacity – and as shooting on the pic continues, hopefully we’ll get to see more of him soon.
