According to Digital Spy, Black Eyed Peas front man will.i.am has revealed that the top charting group will make a DVD of their upcoming tour directed by none other than himself, the master, the genius, James Cameron. The Black Eyed Peas have chosen James Cameron because of this 3-D trend he has created due to the enormously successful ‘Avatar’. The group has decided to continue the trend and go 3-D on their DVD.

“We have the biggest director, because we are the biggest group on the planet,” will.i.am explained.

James Cameron responded with some more information regarding the film.

“The Peas are filming it in South America. People will be able to see us in the theatre with the 3D glasses and everything.”

He also adds that the film will be a full-length feature of the group as they tour the world.

The group states:

“We’ve toured from America and Europe, to the Middle East, South America, Asia and Africa. It’s not like we go, ‘Yo, we are international, you know what I’m saying? London and Paris!’ Nah, that’s just two cities. We want to go across the planet.”

I personally believe filmmakers are taking this 3-D trend too far. Most films released this year in 3-D have been terrible and the 3D has added no overall effect to the film itself. However, it is great to see the Black Eyed Peas have acquired the man who started it all, James Cameron, to take on the project.

The project is scheduled to hit theatres early next year.
