Of course, that’s been the story ever since the standalone Marvel film debuted to a record $200M-plus opening weekend in North America. The good news keeps coming, too, as Ryan Coogler’s Afrocentric revelation is now among the top 10 highest-grossing movies of all time at the domestic box office.

A $4.7 million Monday haul was enough to push the film’s domestic total to $506.4 million, making it the ninth highest-grossing movie ever to grace North America. One glance at the box office charts will tell you that Black Panther is currently lodged between Rogue One ($532M) and Disney’s live-action rendition of Beauty and the Beast ($504.1M), while the full list looks like this:

1. Star Wars: The Force Awakens ($936M)
2. Avatar ($760M)
3. Titanic ($659M)
4. Jurassic World ($652M)
5. Marvel’s The Avengers ($623M)
6. Star Wars: The Last Jedi ($619M)
7. The Dark Knight ($534M)
8. Rogue One: A Star Wars Story ($532M)
9. Black Panther ($506.4M)
10. Beauty and the Beast ($504.1M)

When it comes to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, only Joss Whedon’s The Avengers ($623M) has made more domestically, and we’re quietly confident that Black Panther will be able to overtake both Rogue One and The Dark Knight ($534M) to become one of the most successful comic book movies, well, ever.

Its global cume is equally impressive, and currently stands at $909.8 million. That’s enough to place Black Panther ahead of Wonder Woman, allowing the T’Challa solo flick to become the best standalone superhero debut in history. Next up is that all-important billion-dollar milestone, and all signs suggest the king of Wakanda will be able to add what is arguably the biggest box office accolade of them all to his growing collection before the final numbers are counted.
