Armed and very, very dangerous, John Wick soon finds himself in the company of some of the most fearsome assassins on the planet. But there’s business to attend to, and here we get another glimpse of that fabled Matrix reunion between Keanu Reeves and the great Laurence Fishburne, who signed on for Chad Stahelski’s hardboiled action sequel to play The Bowery King. Described as a ruthless crime lord, it’s unclear how much screentime will be devoted to Fishburne’s malevolent kingpin, though considering that sheer number of adversaries lying in wait, we imagine Wick will have other business to attend to before long.

Also starring Bridget Moynahan, Lance Reddick, John Leguizamo, Ruby Rose and Ian McShane as Winston, the enigmatic owner of the Continental, John Wick: Chapter 2 looks set to retain the focus and eye-popping stunt choreography that made the 2014 original such a breakout hit. Indeed, John Wick’s particular set of skills have been referenced by a handful of other directors in recent years, and it appears as though Robin Hood: Origins, another project brewing at Lionsgate, will take a leaf out of Wick’s book come 2018.

“Well, John wasn’t exactly the boogeyman. He’s the man you send to kill the fucking boogeyman.” And we’ll see how his story continues when John Wick: Chapter 2 shoots for theaters on February 10th. That’s a date it currently shares with The LEGO Batman Movie and Fifty Shades Darker, ensuring there’s really something for everyone in theaters next weekend.
