Blumhouse Shares First Set Pic From Halloween Sequel

Though David Gordon Green's Halloween sequel recently encountered an unexpected setback (spoilers: filming was delayed from October to this month), there's still a tremendous amount of excitement echoing around the horror community for what is, essentially, Laurie Strode's final run-in with the masked Michael Myers.

Though David Gordon Green’s Halloween sequel recently encountered an unexpected setback (spoilers: filming was delayed from October to this month), there’s still a tremendous amount of excitement echoing around the horror community for what is, essentially, Laurie Strode’s final run-in with the masked Michael Myers.

For one, it’ll ignore all other sequels in the Halloween timeline in honor of John Carpenter’s original classic, which is very much considered to be the jumping-off point, creatively speaking. Not only that, but we’ve also been told that we should be very, very scared about the story that Green and Danny McBride have rustled up. Why? Well, it’s hard to say without having seen any footage, but with production now underway, we should start learning more soon.

Speaking of which, to mark the start of shooting, Blumhouse Productions shared the first set photo this week, which you can see in the gallery down below. Unfortunately, it’s not much, really only acting as an announcement to tell us that filming has begun, but it’s surely just the first of many that we’ll be getting over the coming weeks and months.

This new set pic also comes hot on the heels of yesterday’s update, in which we learned that 4 more actors had boarded the pic. The individuals in question are  Virginia “Ginny” Gardner (Project Almanac), Miles Robbins (Mozart in the Jungle, My Friend Dahmer), Dylan Arnold (Mudbound, Laggies, When We Rise) and Drew Scheid (Stranger ThingsThe War with Grandpa), and while details on their roles are vague, we do know that they’ll be playing Allyson’s (the lead character) friends.

What else can we tell you about Halloween? Unfortunately, not much, as plot details and the like have been hard to come by. We have been promised a faithful, horror-oriented sequel, though, and seeing how much enthusiasm both Green and McBride have for the project has us feeling confident that it’ll be a cut above the past few entries in the franchise. After all, fans need another great Halloween movie after suffering through efforts like Resurrection and The Curse of Michael Myers and with any luck, Blumhouse will deliver just that.
