Boyd Holbrook And Jai Courtney, Among Others, Testing For Kyle Reese In Terminator: Genesis

Casting for Terminator: Genesis was really starting to heat up towards the end of last year but once Sarah and John Connor had been cast, things kind of died down for a bit. Now, it appears that Paramount is on the hunt again and this time they are looking to place an actor in the role of Kyle Reese. Apparently, there are several actors testing for the part and they are as follows: Tom Cocquerel, Wilson Bethel, Sam Reid, Jai Courtney and Boyd Holbrook.

Casting for Terminator: Genesis was really starting to heat up towards the end of last year, but once Sarah and John Connor had been cast, things kind of died down for a bit.

Originally portrayed by Michael Biehn in James Cameron’s 1984 film, Reese was “sent back in time to protect Sarah Connor and ends up being the father to the savior of the future, John Connor.” With Emilia Clarke already set to play Sarah and Jason Clarke taking on the role of John, adding either Courtney or Holbrook would certainly make this an interesting cast of talented up and coming actors. As for the other names, I’m not at all familiar with them so I can’t really speak to whether or not they would be well suited for the role.

In fact, out of all the names listed, Courtney is the one who I’ve seen the most on screen. I first caught him on television’s Spartacus and after that in Jack Reacher and A Good Day To Die Hard. He may not be a household name just yet but he’s a perfectly capable actor and I’d love to see him get the chance to shine in a film like this.

Terminator: Genesis will shoot its way into theatres on July 1st, 2015. Tell us, who do you want to see in the role of Kyle Reese?
