Brad Pitt In New Tree Of Life Clip

Two weeks ago we posted the first clip from Terrence Malick’s upcoming film, The Tree of Life. The clip was very subtle, but beautiful, much like Malick’s last films. Now, thanks to The Film Stage, we can present you with another clip. Unlike the last clip, this one features Brad Pitt, who is teaching is two sons how to fight. The clip shows the type of relationship that the boys have with their father and it paints a clear picture to the kind of father Brad Pitt is playing.

Terrence Malick always manages to give us excellent performances from everyone involved in his films and I think that The Tree of Life will give us three very good, but very different performances from Brad Pitt, Sean Penn and Jessica Chastain. Another key element in all of his films are the visuals and I think it’s safe to say that The Tree of Life might be his best piece of work, visually. The stunning images in the trailer plus the very nature look of the clips released have me very excited!

The Tree of Life opens in limited release May 27th, 2011. Check out the clip below.

From Terrence Malick, the acclaimed director of such classic films as BADLANDS, DAYS OF HEAVEN and THE THIN RED LINE, THE TREE OF LIFE is the impressionistic story of a Midwestern family in the 1950’s. The film follows the life journey of the eldest son, Jack, through the innocence of childhood to his disillusioned adult years as he tries to reconcile a complicated relationship with his father (Brad Pitt). Jack (played as an adult by Sean Penn) finds himself a lost soul in the modern world, seeking answers to the origins and meaning of life while questioning the existence of faith. Through Malick’s signature imagery, we see how both brute nature and spiritual grace shape not only our lives as individuals and families, but all life.
