And so the saga continues. Just as we started to believe that everything was good to go on the very troubled western Jane Got A Gun, we’re now hearing that Bradley Cooper has dropped out. Deadline is telling us that the studio is looking at Tobey Maguire, Joseph Gordon-Levitt or Tom Hiddleston to replace him but for now, nothing has been finalized.

If you remember, the whole thing started back when Lynne Ramsay decided to bail right before the cameras were to start rolling. This was shortly after Michael Fassbender made his exit. Gavin O’Connor came on to replace Ramsay and Joel Edgerton stepped into Fassbender’s role, with Cooper coming on to replace Jude Law, who took Fassbender’s old role but then exited.

Are you still with us? We know, it’s confusing. Point is though that Cooper has now jumped ship, likely due to scheduling conflicts with David O. Russell’s American Hustle, and now, the production has once again hit a snag.

At this stage, who knows if the film will ever get off the ground. The producers certainley aren’t having very good luck and I’m starting to wonder if there’s more to the story than we’re being told. Is something else going on behind the scenes? It’s very possible, though we’ll likely never know.

It’s unfortunate, too. The film sounds promising and the cast that still remains is pretty solid (Natalie Portman, Joel Edgerton, Noah Emmerich). Hopefully everything is able to be sorted out because it would be a shame if the plug is pulled on this one. As always, we’ll keep you posted when we hear more about the ongoing saga of Jane Got A Gun.

So, what do you think of Cooper departing from Jane Got A Gun? Is the production doomed? Who would you like to see replace the Oscar nominee? Let us know in the comments below.
