Cameron Crowe‘s next project has already bagged Emma Stone and now, Bradley Cooper is in talks. Apparently, Crowe has undergone a “lengthy search” for a male lead and it seems Cooper is the perfect fit and is currently in negotiations.

Earlier in the year when Stone signed on the film was titled Deep Tiki, and it’s unclear as to whether or not that moniker or the actual idea remains. That story, set in Hawaii, focuses on a military contractor who attempts to launch a military satellite over the islands, which requires hobnobbing and a highly-likely slow burning romance with a military liaison aided with abiding by the needs of the island’s spiritual leaders.

If he commits, Cooper will take the role of the contractor, while Stone will play the liaison. The idea holds a cracking premise together with two likeable-and-bankable leads atop the backdrop of Hawaii, which outshone George Clooney at times in The Descendants.

While Bradley Cooper is building a varied resume, including the soon-to-be-released The Silver Linings Playbook and next year’s The Place Beyond The Pines by Derek Cianfrance, Crowe’s recent films have fallen short. We Bought A Zoo harnessed a compelling (for saying it was about a zoo) true story but the romance between Scarlett Johansson and Matt Damon was unconvincing. Here’s hoping he can forge a flick in line with Jerry Maguire.
