Brie Larson Shares New Captain Marvel Pic Showing Off Kree Suit

The upcoming Captain Marvel takes place in the ‘90s, which also happens to be the decade in which the Rock the Vote first started encouraging young people to head to the polls. And while this connection may seem tenuous, star Brie Larson has managed to combine the two in a last-minute plea for people to cast their votes in the upcoming midterms.

The upcoming Captain Marvel takes place in the ‘90s, which also happens to be the decade in which Rock the Vote first started encouraging young people to head to the polls. And while this connection may seem tenuous, star Brie Larson has managed to combine the two in a last-minute plea for people to cast their votes in the upcoming midterms.

The actress took to Instagram with an image of Carol Danvers at a payphone, along with the following caption:

“CAPTAIN MARVOTE IS A BAD PUN BUT NOW THAT I HAVE YOUR ATTENTION PLEASE VOTE TOMORROW”

Larson isn’t the only screen superhero to use social media to spread this message. A couple of weeks ago, Bruce Banner actor Mark Ruffalo posted a meme of himself and his Avengers 4 co-star Paul Rudd that urged his fans to vote. Meanwhile, Ryan Reynolds of Deadpool fame recently shared a message on his birthday informing fans that he had “a new favorite four letter word,” that word being, ‘vote.’

But going back to Larson’s Instagram image, that payphone looks to have a couple of wires coming out of it, suggesting that either this phone’s busted or Carol’s doing some tinkering – and remember, this is the ‘90s, when people still used payphones enough to care if they’d been vandalized. What’s more, Captain Marvel seems to be using a piece of electronic equipment that’s fresh out of the box. While it’s unclear what any of this means, the photo at least gives off the impression that this MCU newcomer is going to be quite a resourceful character.

In any case, it won’t be long before we can see Larson fight Skrulls against a backdrop of ‘90s nostalgia, with Captain Marvel set to hit theaters on March 8th, 2019.
