Of all the superhero movies on the way over the next few years, Captain Marvel is one of the most highly anticipated. With Oscar-winning actress Brie Larson (Kong: Skull Island) in the title role, it’s easy to see why, though the hero’s big-screen debut is long overdue regardless.

We know she’ll probably appear in Avengers: Infinity War, but whether Captain Marvel will be a fully formed hero there or just plain old Carol Danvers remains a mystery. She’ll be suiting up eventually, however, and a new piece of fan-art gives us an idea of how that could look. Putting Larson in the character’s current comic book costume, it also provides Carol with some serious backup in the form of the US Air Force.

That makes perfect sense given her military connections, and chances are that will play a huge role in her adventures in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Larson has made a lot of interesting comments about the project lately, and while any sort of reveal is probably a long way off (there was no sign of her in that Phase 3 sneak peek, for example), it’s going to be a very exciting day when we finally get to see the actress all suited up.

Comic-Con would certainly be a good time for that to drop, but with everything from Spider-Man: Homecoming to Thor: Ragnarok to promote in 2017, that may be unlikely. For now, this cool Captain Marvel fan-art should definitely help to tide fans over.
