Two weeks after its release, it can be stated without a tinge of a doubt that Lee Cronin’s Evil Dead Rise has surpassed the expectations set by its predecessors, with many deeming the most recent entry as the best installment that the saga has to offer.

Besides the blood, gore, horrific possessions, and rigorous, brutal attempts at survival, the movie does an excellent job at challenging the usual, familiar trope of friends trapped at a cabin in the woods, and instead focuses on a family’s struggles to survive in a derelict, cramped apartment.

With its unusual emphasis on the themes of a family breakdown, motherhood, complicated sibling relationships, and most significantly the triumph of female victors towards the end, Rise has earned words of praise from millions of the franchise’s fans; which also includes Ash Willaims himself, who was the first ‘survivor’ of the malevolent attacks by the Deadites.

Recently, Bruce Campbell took to Twitter and thanked his Deadites for the film’s success. Naturally, his post was followed by a trail of tweets concurring with Campbell’s approval.

Amongst the ongoing love and positive reviews that are being showered on this recent addition, a nod of validation from a major former protagonist definitely serves as icing on the cake.
