We heard earlier this week that Bruce Willis would not be starring in The Expendables 3. No reason was given for the actor’s departure but today, the truth is starting to surface, and it’s actually quite funny.

According to THR, the reason that Willis won’t be in the film is because he couldn’t agree on a salary with Stallone. Apparently, Sly offered Bruce $3 million for four days of work in Bulgaria, not bad right? But Willis, being the greedy bastard he is, turned down the offer and demanded that Stallone pay him $4 million.

When you do the math, this comes to an additional $250,000 a day and to think that these two, longtime friends couldn’t come to an agreement over what essentially amounts to pennies for both of them, is pretty shocking. It’s not like this is an indie film either, The Expendables 2 had a budget of $100 million.

An extra $1 million won’t make or break the banks of either Stallone or Willis and the fact that we’re not going to see Willis in this film over something as insignificant as that, well, it’s definitely a shame.

On one hand, yes, Willis was being a bit greedy but on the other hand, there’s no reason that Stallone could not have given him an extra $1 million. There’s also no reason that the two couldn’t have just worked something out that would please both parties.

What do you think of this nonsense? Are you upset that Bruce Willis won’t be in The Expendables 3? Let us know in the comments below.
