One way or the other, the very first trailer for Captain America: Civil War is imminent, with early reports revealing that Disney will capitalize on the release of The Force Awakens and attach it to next month’s sci-fi blockbuster. However, it appears that the House of Mouse may be on the verge of releasing the snippet in question much sooner than expected.

That’s according to Jimmy Kimmel’s official Twitter account, which teased that a “big surprise” was in store for Civil War fans, with tonight’s show featuring both Robert Downey Jr. and Chris Evans.

While we don’t expect a full-length trailer to drop on the show, a Marvel-themed comedy stint coupled with fleeting glimpses at Joe and Anthony Russo’s 2016 release isn’t out of the question.

Here’s Kimmel’s official Tweet:

Evidently, brand synergy has become a key part of Disney’s marketing strategy, and it’s hardly surprising that the company is aligning Civil War with The Force Awakens. Then again, the fact that 20th Century Fox has now attached the maiden trailer for Bryan Singer’s X-Men: Apocalypse would lead us to believe that the studio may release the first trailer for Captain America: Civil War alongside The Good Dinosaur later this week. Unorthodox, sure, though we’ll reserve any judgement until the latest episode of Jimmy Kimmel airs later tonight.

Captain America: Civil War release in theaters on May 6, 2016. Even if tonight’s Jimmy Kimmel doesn’t herald the debut trailer, we imagine that Disney is on the verge of releasing it to the masses.
