Brie Larson Swings By Nellis Air Force Base As Captain Marvel Prep Begins

In anticipation of Captain Marvel, Brie Larson recently paid a visit to the Nellis Air Force Base in Nevada. And we have some photos to prove it.

Carol Danvers is officially reporting for duty – and not a moment too soon.

With Infinity War and Avengers 4 already in the can, Marvel Studios is now beginning to make preparations for its other superhero fare – namely Captain Marvel and Ant-Man and the Wasp. The latter MCU flick is already deep in production, and will deliver some much-needed comic relief soon after the arrival of Joe and Anthony Russo’s Infinity War – the event movie to end all event movies.

For Captain Marvel, the wheels are finally in motion. Mississipi Grind duo Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck have been brought in to direct, while Marvel’s casting department has been busy locking down the likes of Jude Law (Walter Lawson/Mar-Vell), Ben Mendelsohn (?), DeWanda Wise (?) and Samuel L. Jackson, whose Nick Fury will seemingly be much different to the one-eyed leader fans have become accustomed to.

And they’ll all report to Brie Larson. Yes, the Kong: Skull Island actress is poised to take flight in 2019, and it seems the Oscar-winner is already doing some homework, as evidenced by her recent trip to the Nellis Air Force Base in Nevada.

Principal photography is not expected to begin until March 26th (h/t Omega Underground), leading some to theorize that Larson is actually filming a last-minute cameo for Avengers: Infinity War. It’s the one Marvel rumor that simply refuses to go away, though given Captain Marvel finds itself smack bang in the middle of Infinity War and Avengers 4 – ditto for Ant-Man and the Wasp – we wouldn’t be all that surprised if Carol Danvers staged her MCU debut this May.

It doesn’t have to be anything too elaborate, either; even a post-credits scene would be enough to create a launchpad on which Brie Larson could kickstart her MCU career in earnest. And with Avengers 4 and Captain Marvel already in the pipeline, it’s set to be one to remember. The latter is due in theaters on March 6th, 2019.
