While it’s well understood by now that Carol Danvers has a busy future ahead of her in the MCU, the question remains of what’s to become of her Captain Marvel co-star Goose, and as it turns out, the internet has a few suggestions.
As those who’ve seen Marvel’s latest release will know, Carol’s feline friend is no ordinary cat but an extra-terrestrial Flerken, who can more than hold his own against some of the franchise’s toughest foes thanks to his monstrous tendrils. In the climax of Captain Marvel, Goose proved to be a valuable ally, but once the titular heroine shot off into space for further adventures, Goose remained earthbound with his new friend Nick Fury.
As it stands, Goose is a character whose past and future are shrouded in mystery, leaving plenty of opportunity for the creature to show up in further Marvel projects. And should Kevin Feige and his team be looking for ideas, fans on Twitter have offered their suggestions for the Flerken’s next outing:
Does Nick Fury still have Goose? I'm hoping THAT is the buddy spinoff.

#CaptainMarvel I really kind of want Goose/Chewie spin off movie because clearly the Tesseract & Fury were left behind. So living with Maria & Monica? Followed Carol? Something else? pic.twitter.com/wUAKzesg50

I can’t stop thinking about Goose since watching #CaptainMarvel – can he a get a movie? That’s a spin off I’d love to see. He could team up with Rocket – It would be the most awesome movie ever! pic.twitter.com/RhusIGny3R

I need a Goose, Rocket & Groot spin off. Falcon can come too I guess. Also Loki but he has to stay disguised as a snake the entire time (except for emergencies).

While we wouldn’t bet on most of these ideas progressing beyond the realm of fan fiction, it seems almost unthinkable that Marvel Studios would let a character this popular fall by the wayside, suggesting that Goose will most likely be returning to our screens somewhere down the line.
In the meantime, Goose’s friend Carol seems to be doing pretty well for herself these days, with Captain Marvel recently passing $600 million at the box office globally. At this rate, a sequel is looking pretty inevitable, with Kevin Feige previously hinting that Captain Marvel 2 might be another period flick that takes place shortly after the events of the first film. There’ll be plenty of time for further details in the coming years, but first, Carol will be making her return to theaters with the release of Avengers: Endgame on April 26th.
