The final moments of Infinity War teased the arrival of Brie Larson’s Captain Marvel in next year’s Avengers 4, promising that the latest hero to join the MCU will get to interact with the rest of Earth’s mightiest protectors. Could something like this scene appear in Avengers 4, though? Well, it might be a bit difficult, as most of the Guardians are currently suffering from a slight case of death, as all but Rocket and Nebula were reduced to dust in the wake of Thanos’ finger snap that wiped out half the universe. That said, star Letitia Wright did recently suggest that she worked with Chris Pratt on the movie, so it does seem that the cosmic heroes will be restored to life in the sequel, and with enough time to have some fun with some of the other characters as well.

If a Captain Marvel/Guardians meet-up doesn’t happen in Avengers 4, it won’t be the end of the world, though, as there’s always Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 or maybe even a Captain Marvel sequel. Carol Danvers is heavily tied into the outer space side of the MCU, after all, so it would be easy for her to cross paths with the Milano. The character even served as one of the Guardians for a period in the comics, making her a good candidate to lead the team if Chris Pratt hangs up his blasters at some point.

Captain Marvel hits theaters on March 8th, 2019 with Avengers 4 following on May 3rd. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, meanwhile, is expected to arrive a year later, in May 2020.
