‘On set with Brie Larson’ is fast becoming an unofficial trend for the industry’s paparazzi, and sure enough, Just Jared has today uncovered a fresh batch of photos from the set of Captain Marvel, the standalone MCU adventure that’s poised to journey back to the 1990s in March.

Headed up by the Oscar-winning Brie Larson as Carol Danvers, this is Marvel’s first true female-led superhero movie, and the first of many to come, if comments from the likes of Tessa Thompson (Thor: Ragnarok) and Scarlett Johannson (Black Widow) are to be believed.

But before we get swept up in the MCU’s future, let us first revel in the past – the 1990s, to be specific, where much of Captain Marvel is said to take place. Given the character’s cosmic roots, we’ve also learned that a fair chunk of Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck’s spinoff unfurls in outer space, where Carol Danvers presumably comes into contact with the Kree, along with those superhuman abilities that everyone’s been talking about.

Yes, the 2019 actioner has all the makings of a true game-changer, and here, you’ll be able to take a closer look at Brie Larson kitted out as Captain Marvel.

Unlike last week’s deluge of set photos, which featured Larson in the midst of a full-blown action scene, this gallery is much more understated as we see the actress receive some makeup touch-ups and costume adjustments between takes.

And though her scenes were reportedly cut from Avengers: Infinity War at the 11th hour, the moviegoing masses will be somewhat familiar with Captain Marvel after that post-credits stinger, which had Samuel L. Jackson’s Nick Fury transmit a distress signal into the cosmos just as half of the universe’s population began to fade from view.

He’ll be returning for the Captain Marvel solo movie, of course, which is expected to light up theaters on March 8th, 2019.
