The Captain Marvel trailer landed this morning and there’s still so much to unpack from our first look at Brie Larson’s heroine in action. It gave us exciting new plot details, hints at how the character’s origins have been changed for the screen and the mighty sight of Phil Coulson with a 90s-style quiff.

It’s also worth pointing out that the trailer unveiled Captain Marvel’s classic helmet and mohawk as well. Fans were keen for the familiar part of Carol Danvers’ outfit to appear, and we got our first clue that it was going to when Samuel L. Jackson shared a photo of himself wearing a T-shirt featuring the character with her helmet a few months back. Now, we can see it in action in the trailer above. Or, check it out in the gallery below, which also includes some other screenshots from the preview.

As fans will know, Captain Marvel’s helmet was frequently seen on the heroine’s head in the early days of her career as Mar-Vell’s successor of the Marvel mantle. However, as time’s gone on, and Carol’s look has changed, the helmet’s been somewhat phased out. Now, though, it appears to be making a return and going by the trailer, it looks like its part of Captain Danvers’ green uniform that she wears as a member of Starforce, the Kree military squad that she’ll be part of at the start of the film.

So, that’s the helmet ticked off. Next, fans will be calling for the character’s sash that she typically wears as a belt. We thought that it’d already appeared as an easter egg in Avengers: Infinity War, but it turns out we were mistaken. There’s every chance this other classic accessory could appear when Captain Marvel arrives on March 8th though, so be sure to keep your eyes peeled.
