As we get closer to the release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, it’s hard not to be concerned that Disney and Lucasfilm are going to ruin the movie by revealing a little too much in an upcoming TV spot or poster.

Thankfully, that’s not the case with these retro posters, which are based on the ones released for Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope way back in 1977. The excitement surrounding this latest instalment in the franchise makes these posters feel very appropriate, especially as it’s widely believed that Star Wars: The Force Awakens will make up for the disappointing prequels.

With a Drew Struzan one-sheet, an ensemble piece inspired by his earlier work, and a series of character posters, these are likely the last pieces of artwork we’ll see for the movie, but they definitely do it justice.

Starring original cast members Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew, Kenny Baker, and franchise newcomers, John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, Gwendoline Christie, Lupita Nyong’o and Max von Sydow, Star Wars: The Force Awakens is set to be released on December 18th, 2015.
