Ant-Man And The Wasp Team Up In Awesome New Photo

Disney has released a press pack for 2018, which contains this new still from Ant-Man and The Wasp showing off the heroes' costumes.

Of the 2018 slate of MCU movies, Ant-Man and the Wasp is receiving comparatively little attention to its companions. This isn’t really surprising, though, as Black Panther explores a fresh and exciting corner of the MCU and properly introduces us to Chadwick Boseman’s cool-as-hell looking hero, and Avengers: Infinity War is the culmination of nearly ten years of interlinked storytelling and looks to be the most maximalist superhero jamboree of all-time.

By comparison, the Ant-Man sequel follows on from one of Marvel Studios’ lowest grossing movies and right now, it’s difficult to tell what the film’s unique selling point will be. That being said, I still have faith in the project.

As a huge Edgar Wright fan, I was insanely skeptical of the original Ant-Man, all but convinced it was going to be a neutered superhero origin story. So, it was a nice surprise when replacement director Peyton Reed’s film turned out to have a distinctive personality, visual style and genuine wit. And, with the messy development of the original Ant-Man now just an unhappy memory (and knowing that Wright went on to mainstream success with Baby Driver), there’s every chance this sequel could far surpass the original.

In fact, to kick off the hype train, Disney has released a press pack containing a new still from the film, which shows off both Ant-Man and the Wasp’s new costumes, as they stand together in what looks like some sort of lab. Check it out in the gallery down below along with some more detailed pics of their suits which arrived the other week from CES.

Honestly, this isn’t the most inspiring still I’ve ever seen, but at least it gives us another look at the duo’s new and upgraded threads. Hopefully, the release of this photo also indicates that the first bit of footage isn’t too far off now. We imagine a trailer will arrive with Black Panther next month, but Marvel hasn’t announced anything just yet, so chalk that up as speculation for now.

Ant-Man and the Wasp is set to crawl into theaters on July 6th, and we’ll be bringing you more info on the pic as soon as we have it. Stay tuned!
