If you’ve been wandering about recently thinking, “I wonder if there were any posters for The Dark Knight Rises that Warner Bros. chose not to use,” then what the heck is wrong with you? Although ultimately we can’t deny that you’re amazing attuned to the cultural zeitgeist, given that three unused posters for Christopher Nolan‘s third Batman movie have just been released online. Check ’em out below, psychic wanderer.
Two of the posters are superimposed with the word “Rise” and picture Batman or Bane obeying such an act in the sense that they are standing up. Not bad, but it’s easy to see why Warner Bros. didn’t use them – nothing special. The third poster is actually pretty darn cool in its subtleness, but for casual moviegoers the image of Bane’s mask might not make a lot of sense. “Just a bunch of chalk lines or something,” is what your dad might say, confronted with such an image in a Rorschach test. Not that there’s any reason that your dad would be taking a test like that. Or maybe there is. I don’t know. You know your dad better than I do. Hopefully.
Check them out below and let us know what you think in the comments.
