The behind the scenes featurettes for Avengers: Endgame's home release even show off Chris Hemsworth's transformation into "Bro Thor."

Avengers Endgame

Marvel fans, rejoice! The wait is finally over. As of midnight today, Avengers: Endgame is now available for digital purchase, which means you won’t have to keep heading back to your local theater to shell out for another movie ticket. It seems fans have been flocking to digital platforms from all over as well in order to secure their own copy, seeing as how Endgame has become the highest-grossing pre-sale movie on FandangoNow.

Of course, this won’t come as a surprise to some. After all, Endgame officially dethroned Avatar in terms of ticket sales and is just shy of reaching the $2.8 billion mark. It’s not entirely clear if Marvel Studios’ megahit will ever reach that milestone though since the digital release comes packed with a few bonus goodies which some fans won’t want to pass up.

Aside from a handful of deleted scenes, the home release also has support for Dolby Atmos and Dolby Vision, though you’ll need to have a proper sound setup and an HDR display to fully take advantage of these features. While there’s no single, definitive “making of” documentary detailing the production process, there are plenty of behind-the-scenes featurettes, and we’ve gone ahead and compiled some of the best stills into the gallery below that show off the team’s creative process.

As one would imagine, the movie makes heavy use of green screens, though directors Joe and Anthony Russo didn’t shy away from using practical effects as they saw fit. For example, instead of relying on CGI, Chris Hemsworth donned a prosthetic suit of sorts in order to transform into “Bro Thor.” Needless to say, it looks like the actor spent a few hours in makeup and wardrobe each time he had to get into character.

Be sure to check out the gallery above for more, which also includes a few stills showcasing the franchise’s female superheroes. We’re still holding out for a thorough dive into how Avengers: Endgame was made, but for now, we’ll have to rely on the Blu-Ray and digital releases for our behind the scenes look.
