There’s a new trend going around the motion picture business, and it involves milking the poor Hollywood hype cow until she’s blue in the face. Earlier this week we were treated to an exclusive pre-trailer for the Iron Man 3 trailer (which debuted yesterday), and now it’s time for the somewhat blasphemous The Evil Dead remake to do something similar.
Check out the trailer below, then, for an actual teaser trailer that will debut at some point later today. The remake – helmed by Fede Alvarez and based on Sam Raimi’s kinetic original – has evoked a relatively luke-warm response thus far, given that, hey, the original is an absolute classic treasured by horror fans all over the world.
There’s just a glimpse of footage to be had here (mostly it’s people talking shop), so there’s not much to judge exactly, although we do see Bruce Campbell – who helped produce this thing and played badass Ash in the original – talking about how bloody the movie is going to be.
What do you make of this trailer for the teaser trailer? Has it got you excited, or are movie producers taking it too far with all this pre-trailer nonsense?
The Evil Dead opens April 12, 2013.
