Deadline is reporting that Universal is making moves on Kick-Ass 2, which has Jeff Wadlow set to direct. Up until now, the big question on everyone’s minds was who from the original cast would return?
For a while, there were rumors that cast members like Aaron Johnson, Chloe Moretz and Christopher Mintz-Passe would be recast seeing as they didn’t have sequel options in their original contracts and would require new deals.
Luckily though, this is not the case as Deadline tells us that the three aforementioned actors are close to signing a deal to return. Even more exciting though is that Nicolas Cage may return too!
Having loved the first Kick-Ass, I’m thrilled to see the progress that Kick-Ass 2Â is making. I really couldn’t imagine Moretz, Johnson and Mintz-Passe being recast so the fact that they are more than likely going to return makes me very happy. They were all excellent in their roles and I can’t wait to see them together on screen again.
Kick-Ass 2 is expected to go into production this Fall for a May 2013 release.
