It’s been a quick trip to Atlanta for Chris Hemsworth, with the Thor actor reportedly already done with those Avengers 4 reshoots he mentioned just a couple of days ago.
The star took to Instagram once more to announce that he’s heading back to the set of the upcoming Men in Black movie, and as others have observed, since Hemsworth’s contract with the MCU is now finished, you could say that this marks the end of an era for the Australian actor.
Incidentally, Hemsworth’s Men in Black co-star is his old friend from the set of Thor: Ragnarok, Tessa Thompson. When it was seen that she too was making the trip to Atlanta, many took this as a sign that we might be seeing Valkyrie once more in the sequel to Avengers: Infinity War. If so, then perhaps Thor’s other fellow travelers, including Korg and the last of the Asgardians could also be present to see the God of Thunder out in what might well be his final film. Hell, maybe even Thor’s brother Loki isn’t as dead as we previously thought?
Admittedly, that’s just speculation at this point, but you can be sure that this highly anticipated conclusion to Marvel’s Phase 3 is going to be packed with familiar faces. Thor’s old colleague Hawkeye is finally getting back into the action, while relative newcomer Captain Marvel already has some pressure on her to help sort out the mess left by Thanos. Meanwhile, both leads of Ant-Man and the Wasp will be making an appearance, too, with Evangeline Lilly also taking to Instagram to earlier this month to celebrate the end of her reshoots.
Add to that a whole load of returning characters who were previously disintegrated at the end of Infinity War, and you have to wonder how the Russo Brothers are going to juggle all of these heroes in a single movie. We’ll see if the pair pull it off when Avengers 4 comes out on May 3rd, 2019.
