Though they’ve been hard at work on Avengers 4 ever since Infinity War flickered into life, directors Joe and Anthony Russo recently got the gang back together for some additional filming on next May’s sequel, which is taking place in Atlanta.

Exact details on what’s being shot haven’t been revealed – and probably won’t be – but Mark Ruffalo explained a few weeks ago that the reshoots are mostly to finish up the ending of the sure to be mega-hit, with the actor saying the following:

Well we’re doing reshoots starting in September. And then we’ll go back into the international tour, we’ll go on tour. Then you guys will get the second installment. Which we don’t even know what it’s gonna be yet. We’re not just doing reshoots, we’re going to finish the movie, which we really didn’t get to finish totally when we left it last year.”

The stars of Avengers 4 haven’t been shy about sharing their experience on set either, with many of them posting various photos and videos to their social media accounts to let us know what they’ve been up to. And the latest to do so is the God of Thunder himself, Chris Hemsworth.

Yes, the Aussie actor took to Instagram today to announce that he’s heading back to Atlanta for some additional photography on the Infinity War sequel. He didn’t say much else, but this last-minute bout of production may very well yield new details over the coming weeks, as a project of this size and scope tends to attract curious set photographers hoping to capture Earth’s Mightiest Heroes in action.

First up, though, is Captain Marvel, which after debuting its first trailer earlier this week is now right at the top of many people’s most-anticipated films of 2019 list – and rightfully so. It’s set to introduce us to the MCU’s most powerful hero yet, and given the state that Thor and the rest of our favorite characters were left in at the end of Infinity War, they’ll surely be in dire need of some help when Avengers 4 kicks off.
