Chris Hemsworth Says He’d Still Love To Return As Thor In Phase 4

Avengers: Endgame wrapped up the arcs of a fifth of the original six - Iron Man and Black Widow are dead. Captain America is old. Hawkeye reunited with his family and Hulk's now smart and has permanently injured his arm. The only one primed for more adventures in the MCU then is Thor, who got his mojo back at the end of the movie.

Thankfully, Chris Hemsworth is ready to make good on this promise and return as Thor in future Marvel projects. In an interview with Variety, the Australian star opened up about how the different direction the character has taken over the past three films has left him “energized” to do more.

“I’d still love to do more, to be honest. And I don’t know what the plan is. I feel like we’ve opened up such a different character. I feel more energized for the possibility of where it could go.”

That said, if there isn’t space for Thor on Marvel’s docket in Phase Four, then Hemsworth is at peace with that and would look to siphoning that energy off into other roles.

“But I’ll use that in other places and other characters if it’s the end here.”

The actor has proven that he wouldn’t have any trouble finding more fun-loving action franchises to be a part of if his days as Thor are over. After all, Men in Black International is something of a Thor: Ragnarok sidequel, as it features him once again pairing up with Tessa Thompson to battle some aliens.

Speaking of Thompson, the actress was the first to give us some hope that Thor 4 may happen as, prior to the release of Endgame, she revealed that discussions for a third sequel have taken place with director Taika Waititi likely to return. Even if a solo movie is off the cards though, we last saw Thor with the Guardians, so a role in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 could happen instead. Not that anyone has confirmed this is the plan as yet, mind you.

Seeing as Hemsworth is up for it though, how do you think Thor should return? Join the conversation in the comments section down below.
